Malamawi Island Beach

Only a brave few dare visit this pristine beach of Malamawi Island in Basilan, Philppines. Since the abduction of the American Couple, Martin and Gracia Burnham last May 2001 by the Islamist Terrorist, Abbu Sayyaf Group in the region, the place has seen very few tourist.

But this beach is so beautiful! Look at the clear water and clouds!

I guess it would have to take time before tourists take chances in coming here, despite all the beauty and serenity. Sometimes, one’s safety is number one consideration when looking for a place to visit. But that one incident has ruined this place’s reputation and that is a pity.
