The rice terraces in the Cordillera Mountain Province is one of the Philippines UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Batad, a village a couple of hours away from the more commonly known Banaue Rice Terraces, has well-preserved ampitheater-like terraces rising to the mountaintops.
Nestled deep into the mountains of Ifugao, where one of the UNESCO heritage site, Batad can be found, is another bonus attraction – The Tappia Falls. The one hour hike from Batad Village along rice paddies and narrow trails is both scenic and rewarding. The falls has a great height and inviting pool perfect for cooling down after that trek.
